Transmission Accuracy and Quality of Measurement
Many Knick isolation amplifiers are distinguished by extraordinarily low transmission errors so that the accuracy requirements of virtually all industrial measurement tasks are exceeded. The long-term stability of Knick isolators ensures maximum transmission accuracy, well past the five-year warranty period.
Signal distortion due to polarity switching, overshooting during signal fluctuations and extreme ramp angles in rectangular wave transmission are unfortunately the rule for many isolation amplifiers available on the market. These undesirable properties are initially not noticeable to the user. Unexplainable and serious measurement errors are often only detected when the device is put into regular operation.
Signal transmission accuracy has traditionally played a large role in the development of Knick isolation amplifiers with much attention paid to minimization of these distortion properties.
In industrial plants, the transmission of measuring and control signals almost always requires electrical isolation of the signals being processed both for safety reasons and in order to achieve optimum signal quality.
Knick offers suitable components for electrical isolation in various designs to meet these requirements. Depending on the model, the appropriate measuring signals are also amplified or converted to the standard values 10 V or 20 mA. Voltages of a few mV up to 4200 V and currents of a few μA up to 10 A can be transmitted or converted with a high level of accuracy.
